Reclaim Jane 5 Day Challenge

This week I participated in Natalie Pithers’ 5 day challenge, #Reclaim Jane. And what a challenge it was. To write a story that I had not really researched in 5 short days was very tricky. But Natalie provided wonderful encouragement and live facebook sessions which really helped me to stay focussed and complete each day’s task in order to get it done within the 5 days.

Natalie is a family historian from the UK who founded the Curious Descendents Club a fabulous community which I may join at some point. You can hook up with Natalie on Twitter @geneastories.

The story I wrote for the challenge is about my great grandmother who spent some time in the Kew Lunatic Asylum in 1894. She must have been a very strong woman to survive her incarceration and get on with her life after she was released. You can read her story on my Genealogy blog here
