Mary Ann’s Story

My next book is well underway. It is inspired by my 3x Great Grandmother Mary Ann Carter.

Mary Ann’s Story is the working title whilst I think of something better.

The Blurb

Step into the pages of Mary Ann’s story and be transported to the rugged landscapes of colonial Australia, where one woman's unwavering love and resilience will capture your imagination.

At the heart of this sweeping saga is Mary Ann Turner, a young woman from 19th-century England who embarks on a perilous journey to the other side of the world with her new husband, Richard Evans, a former convict seeking redemption. As Mary Ann and Richard carve out a life together in the unforgiving Australian bush, they must confront the harsh realities of pioneer life.

Through it all, Mary Ann's unwavering love for her family and her unshakable faith in the face of adversity serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration. As the years pass and their family grows, Mary Ann and Richard weather the storms of life, their love growing stronger with each trial and triumph.

In this sweeping saga, Pauline Wilson weaves a tale of family, faith, and unbreakable bonds. With its rich cast of characters and vivid historical detail, this story will be enjoyed by fans of historical fiction and anyone who believes in the power of the human spirit.

Don't miss this epic tale of love, loss, and the unshakable strength of one remarkable woman.

Mary Ann was born in the small village of Wilden in 1835. According to the 1851 census 15 year old Mary Ann was working as a lacemaker.

She would have been making lace in the same way as demonstrated in this video with silk thread, pins and bobbins.
