What Will 2025 Bring?

Well here we are, over half way through the first month of the new year and I am still struggling to decide what my goals/intentions are for 2025. I usually like to have some planning done for the year ahead by now. To be honest, I haven’t really felt able to concentrate on new goals whilst I am finishing my current project.

My third novel, Family & Fortune is due for release March 12, 2025 so I am very busy finalising the million tasks that I need to get done before that date.

So where am I at with this latest book?

  • Proof copy received, cover and layout checked.

  • Print copies ordered, including top up supplies of my other books.

  • Bookmarks designed, ordered and received.

  • Advance Information Sheet created for circulaton to libraries and other interested parties.

  • Updates to the website, including adding a pre order link.

  • Promotion commenced and further marketing materials commenced.

  • Some libraries contacted to offer to do talks

  • Newsletter subscribers invited to be part of the Advance Reader Team.

  • Book vendor spot booked at Clunes Book Fair in late March.

But despite all the tasks still be to done to promote Family & Fortune, I really need to start giving serious consideration to my next project. I am struggling to decide between two ideas at present. One is another historical fiction novel and the other is non-fiction, a type of memoir. I have made a substantial start on both with over 15,000 words written in each manuscript. Maybe this indecision is what is really holding up my planning and goal setting. Or is it just that finishing my current project is taking up too much headspace?

How is your planning for 2025 going?
