My Social Media Strategy

As 2023 begins, I have been giving a lot of thought to how to make my engagement with my readers more professional and engaging. I currently have four ways to connect with people. I have my newsletter which I publish monthly on the first Wednesday. I will experiment with that to find the best time to post when most subscribers will open the email. I also have this blog which I will publish about the middle of each month. But on to Social Media. This definitely needs work and a more well planned strategy. To date my posting has been very haphazard. So here’s my plan…..

I have always used Twitter more as an opportunity to learn from others and a way to connect. I have over 500 followers on Twitter built up over many years. So I will continue to use the platform to connect particularly with other authors rather than scheduling regular posts.

I have experimented with tools for scheduling posts including Later and have not found one I really like. So the simplest solution seems to be to just use Meta Business which has a scheduling tool. It only includes Facebook and Instagram but as I intend to just randomly post and comment on Twitter this should be sufficient.

So the plan is to post at least 5 times every week and to schedule at least one week ahead. So far this is taking a big chunk of time however I am hoping that as I get into the swing of this process it will become quicker and ultimately save time.

If you have any advise or ideas about what you would like to see me posting on social media or in my blog and newsletter, I would love to hear from you in the comments.
